Jane Kang

Acupuncturist

Jane graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco in 2007 and spent the next several years deepening her practice across a range of Bay Area clinics — including a fertility clinic in the Sunset district and an integrative clinic in Glen Park — before putting down roots in Pacifica in 2010. Community and accessible healthcare have always been at the heart of her work. She co-founded a community acupuncture clinic in Pacifica before opening Oceanside Healing in 2018, where she also hosts a weekly book club and a free monthly grief support group. Jane is drawn to Chinese medicine for its ability to address multiple concerns gently and holistically. When she's not in the clinic, you'll find her surfing, horseback riding, or hiking with her dogs.

Shelley H. Lane

Acupuncturist, Nutritional Therapist

Shelley began her acupuncture practice in Santa Barbara in 1984 and, over the decades that followed, developed a deep appreciation for the connection between what we eat and how we feel. Noticing that diet and lifestyle played a central role in so many of her patients' conditions, she pursued certification in nutritional therapy through the NTA and immersed herself in "food as medicine" principles — a shift that brought meaningful improvements to patient outcomes. Today, her practice weaves together acupuncture and nutrition to address a wide range of concerns, including digestive issues, pain management, stress, and hormonal balance. Shelley holds degrees in acupuncture (L.Ac., OMD) and a BA in Psychology, and has pursued additional certifications in Autism Mastery and BioIndividual Nutrition. She also serves as co-chapter leader of the San Mateo Weston A. Price Foundation, reflecting her longstanding commitment to community health and whole-food living.

Janice Huang

Acupuncturist

Janice was born in Taiwan and has carried a deep commitment to healing throughout her life and career. She earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, training alongside her studies through internships at the CPMC Stroke and Rehabilitation Center, the Women's Resource Center, and the ACTCM Community Clinic. That same spirit of service has led her to volunteer her time offering free auricular acupuncture at the Chinatown YMCA, Stonestown Galleria, and GLIDE Memorial Church — bringing care to people who might not otherwise have access to it.

As a California Licensed Acupuncturist, Janice brings a patient-centered approach to everything she does, prioritizing each person's comfort and well-being above all else. Her practice encompasses a broad range of conditions, including pain and stress management, gastrointestinal health, mental health, insomnia, neurological disorders, breech baby support, and cupping therapy.

Dr. Brian Cook's path into healthcare began at UC Davis, where he studied Biological Sciences before going on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward — graduating with honors and as salutatorian of his class. A board-certified chiropractor, Brian has pursued advanced training in Active Release Techniques®, a specialized soft tissue method that allows him to address the root causes of pain and movement restrictions with precision and care.

Tracey Thompson

Reflexology

After seven years as a dedicated yoga practitioner, Tracey stepped into teaching in 2022 and quickly found that her instinct to care for her students extended beyond the mat. During her restorative yoga classes at Ocean Yoga in Pacifica, giving foot massages to students at the end of class became a natural and beloved ritual — and the overwhelmingly positive response inspired her to pursue formal certification in foot reflexology. Her reflexology work focuses on deep tissue techniques on the soles of the feet, with lighter work on the top, using the body's mapped pressure points to address specific ailments and bring relief where it's needed most. In addition to yoga and reflexology, she is also certified in meditation and consciousness and aromatherapy through the Skyline College Wellness Program.

Michelle Schneider

Massage Therapist

Michelle's connection to the human body runs deep, shaped by years of practicing dance and yoga alongside her studies at San Francisco State University and the Esalen Institute. That foundation — part academic, part embodied — informs everything she brings to her massage work. She tailors each session to the unique needs of the individual, allowing her to offer a more precise and effective experience for every client. Michelle specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Prenatal massage and has helped many clients find relief from stress and insomnia.

Virginia O'Hanlon

Massage Therapist

Virginia's journey in healing arts began at the McKinnon School of Massage, where she earned her certification as a California licensed massage therapist. That foundation sparked a deeper curiosity about the body, leading her to become a California licensed physical therapy assistant — a role she devoted twenty years to, working in outpatient orthopedic clinics. Those two decades gave her a rich, hands-on understanding of a wide range of conditions and injuries, from spinal problems and upper extremity overuse to post-surgical recovery and sports injuries. Today, Virginia brings that wealth of experience to her massage practice, specializing in deeper tissue myofascial work, soft tissue mobilization, and osteopathic techniques to help clients address specific issues with skill and intention.

Ben Zhen

Massage Therapist

Before making his home in the United States, Ben spent years practicing as a holistic medicine doctor in China, drawing on a thorough education from Foshan Medical School where he studied traditional Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, and Tui-Na massage techniques. He brought that rich foundation with him when he transitioned to massage therapy in the US, and over the past fifteen-plus years has built a practice rooted in both Eastern tradition and Western technique. Ben specializes in a wide range of modalities — Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lymphatic, Pain Management, Sports Massage, and Foot Reflexology — and is especially passionate about getting to the root cause of his clients' pain rather than simply treating the surface. That blend of ancient wisdom and hands-on experience is what makes his work truly distinctive.

Lexy Kenchaphorn

Drawing from a diverse range of modalities — including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Lymphatic, Thai, and Prenatal massage — she crafts personalized sessions that blend techniques to suit the unique needs of each individual. Lexy is also trained to work with cancer patients, bringing both skill and sensitivity to some of life's most challenging moments. At the heart of her work is a genuine passion for helping people feel better in both body and mind.

Shirley McClure

Chi Nei Tsang Practitioner, Drum Circle Facilitator

Shirley is a specialist in Chi Nei Tsang, a profound healing practice rooted in ancient China and developed by the White Cloud Taoist Monks. The name itself tells the story — "working the energy of the internal organs" — and that is exactly what Shirley's work does. She studied at the Chi Nei Tsang Institute, attaining Practitioner Level 1, and brings both technical skill and intuitive care to this powerful form of hands-on bodywork and energy healing. A session with Shirley centers on a soft yet deeply effective abdominal massage that works across a remarkable range of systems — digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, reproductive, and emotional — offering a truly whole-body experience.

He holds a BA in Social Work and spent two years in deep study at the Black Swan Temple in Maui, where he immersed himself in the ways of the Essenes, Reiki, and a range of spiritual practices. That rich and varied background informs the breadth of what he offers today — from multiple forms of meditation to sound healing — welcoming people of all ages into his practice. Private sound healing sessions are available, as well as sound healing combined with acupuncture treatment.

Steven Evans

Meditation Coach

Steven's path to meditation was one of those happy accidents of timing — he stumbled into the world of self-healing just before the pandemic arrived, and what might have been a period of stillness became a profound journey inward. A former French teacher and local barista, he brought an open and curious spirit to his studies, going on to become a Sura Flow certified Meditation Coach and a graduate of the Globe Institute of Sound and Consciousness. Today he channels that personal transformation into his work, sharing his passion for meditation and sound healing with others who are ready to explore their own inner landscape. When he's not teaching, Steven can be found writing poetry, making music, moving intuitively, cooking, or out on the water kayaking whenever the opportunity arises.

Jacalyn White

Grief Relief Yoga Instructor

Jacalyn came to Grief Yoga® through her own experience of loss — after her husband died, she found in it a powerful way to move through sadness while cultivating courage and hope. That personal journey transformed into a calling, and she is now a Certified Grief Yoga® instructor, eager to walk alongside others who are navigating grief and loss of their own. Her roots in yoga run deep: she has been a Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher since 2002 and a Vini Yoga instructor since 2008, and she is currently enrolled in a 1000-hour Yoga Therapy Training. She teaches yoga to faculty and staff at San Francisco State University and offers private in-home instruction as well. When she's not on the mat, you'll find her walking her sweet dog along the beautiful beaches of Pacifica.

Madeira Petronis-Branch
